Commercial pre-rinse taps are the high-pressure spray fixtures over your pot wash and dishwash sinks — essential for removing food residue before items go into the dishwasher. The right unit matches your sink configuration, water pressure and dishwash workflow. Hospitality Connect stocks Stoddart, Sunmixer, 3Monkeez, KitchenKnock, Jetstream and Global — covering deck-mounted, wall-mounted, compact, dual-hob and exposed breech configurations.
Types of commercial pre-rinse taps
- Deck mounted (Stoddart, Sunmixer): Spigot mounted in the sink bench top — most common installation.
- Wall mounted (Stoddart): Backplate mounted to wall — keeps the bench clear and easier to clean around.
- Compact pre-rinse units: Smaller riser and shorter hose — for cafés and small kitchens with limited space.
- Dual hob with pot filler (3Monkeez T-3M53058, T-3M53007-C): Hot and cold separately, plus an extension swing nozzle for filling stockpots.
- Exposed breech units (Jetstream, Global): Heavy-duty exposed-pipe units for heavy commercial use.
- Add-on faucets: Sunmixer 152mm and 305mm swing nozzles attached to the pre-rinse riser.
Spray heads and spout options
- 150mm or 300mm spout: Match to sink width — 150mm for compact sinks, 300mm for wide double sinks.
- Pre-rinse spray arm (Stoddart CMPL.0841): High-pressure squeeze trigger for fast residue removal.
- Hose length: Standard 1118mm shower hose — long enough to reach the back corners of double sinks.
- 510mm riser plus wall bracket: Sunmixer T98001-1 with wall bracket reduces sway during use.
Specifying for your dishwash
A standard pot wash needs a deck-mounted pre-rinse with 300mm spout and squeeze-trigger spray head. High-volume dishwash benches need dual-hob units for hot and cold separation. Coffee shop and café sinks (smaller scale) benefit from compact pre-rinse units. Don't undersize the spray riser — short risers force staff to lean over the bench, causing back strain over a shift.
Installation considerations
Pre-rinse taps need a separate hot and cold water supply with isolation valves. Australian Watermark certification is required for plumbing work — use a licensed plumber. Pressure regulators may be needed if your building water pressure exceeds 500kPa — high pressure damages the tap mechanism. Allow clearance behind the riser for the swing arc.
