Chef Sneakers

Chef sneakers are fully enclosed shoes designed to be worn through a kitchen shift. They use a sneaker upper and a lacing or strap closure rather than the open-back design of a clog, so the foot is held more securely.

Plain dark kitchen sneakers are often worn front of house as well as in the kitchen, because they read as ordinary footwear while remaining fully enclosed. Check your venue's uniform standard before issuing them to floor staff.

Kitchen shoes wear out from the sole up. Replace them when the tread has flattened, the upper has split, or the shoe no longer holds the foot firmly, since worn footwear is a slip and fatigue risk over a long service.
