Collection: JAB Gelato Yellow

Hospitality Connect carries 15 JAB Gelato Yellow melamine lines: six tumblers, two bowls, two plates, two espresso cups and further melamine servingware. That covers drinks, plated food and shared service in one colourway.

Melamine tableware is moulded from a hard resin rather than fired clay or glass. It does not shatter when dropped and is lighter than crockery, which is why venues use it outdoors, poolside, for function catering and in aged care and institutional dining.

Coloured melamine gives a bright, casual look that suits poolside, outdoor and family dining. Colour also helps staff separate one service, area or menu from another at a glance, which is useful where several settings run from the same wash area.

Melamine does not shatter the way glass and crockery do, but it is not indestructible: it chips, scratches and marks with heavy use and is replaced rather than repaired. Venues choose it to cut breakage and injury risk, not to avoid replacement entirely.

Yes. Melamine is common in aged care, hospitals, schools and institutional dining because it does not shatter, is light for residents and students to lift, and keeps a consistent look across a large number of settings.
