Choosing the Right Muddlers & Bar Spoons for Your Business

Muddlers and bar spoons are core cocktail tools for bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants. This collection holds 24 products, including 10 bar spoons, 4 muddlers and a small number of other bar tools and accessories, in finishes such as gold, rose gold and black.

A muddler crushes fruit, herbs and sugar in the glass or shaker to release flavour, so choose one long enough to reach the bottom of your tallest shaker tin. A bar spoon has a long, thin handle for stirring drinks in a mixing glass. A muddler spoon combines both jobs, with a flat end for light muddling. Pick spoon length to suit your mixing glasses and tins. Finish is a presentation choice: matching gold, rose gold or black tools across the bar gives a consistent look. Trade pricing and Australia-wide delivery apply.

What is a muddler used for?

A muddler is a bar tool used to press herbs, fruit and sugar in the base of a glass so their oils and juice release into the drink. Bartenders use one for mojitos, caipirinhas and old fashioneds.

What is a bar spoon for?

A bar spoon is a long, thin spoon used to stir cocktails in a mixing glass without breaking up the ice. The twisted handle lets the spoon spin smoothly against the side of the glass, and the flat end can layer a float.

How long should a bar spoon be?

Choose a bar spoon long enough to reach the bottom of the tallest mixing glass or tin behind your bar, with handle left above the rim to grip. A spoon that is too short forces an awkward wrist angle and stirs unevenly.

Which brands of muddlers and bar spoons are in this range?

This barware range includes tools from Zanzi, D-Still and Avanti, among other suppliers. Finishes across the collection include black, gold and rose, so a bar can match its tools to the rest of the fitout.

Should a muddler be flat or toothed on the end?

A flat-faced muddler presses ingredients without shredding them, which suits mint and other soft herbs. A toothed face breaks fruit and sugar down faster but can tear leaves and leave bitter fragments in the drink.
