Collection: Cleaning Chemicals

Hospitality Connect stocks 133 commercial cleaning chemicals for kitchens, bars, front of house and wash up areas. The range covers detergents, degreasers, disinfectants and sanitisers, spray and wipe cleaners, and machine specific products for dishwashers, combi ovens and coffee equipment. Nowchem and Jantex are the main brands in the range.

Match the chemical to the surface and to the soil. A degreaser is formulated for baked on fat around the cooking line, while a general detergent handles routine bench and floor work. Disinfectants and sanitisers reduce bacteria on food contact surfaces and are used after cleaning, not instead of it. Concentrates take up less storeroom space, but they must be diluted to the rate on the label to work as intended. Equipment cleaners are matched to the machine, so use the product specified for your dishwasher, combi oven or coffee machine.

Cleaning chemical handling and longevity

• Store away from food: Concentrated chemicals near food breaks HACCP — dedicated chemical store with bunding.
• Don't mix chemicals: Bleach plus ammonia produces toxic fumes; never mix detergents and sanitisers.
• Train staff on dosing: Over-dilution wastes money; under-dilution is a HACCP risk. Use supplied dosing cups.
• Replace dispenser pumps annually: Worn pumps deliver inconsistent dose.
• FIFO chemical stock: Concentrates have shelf life — usually 18 to 24 months; rotate older stock first.
