Collection: JAB Gelato Lime

JAB Gelato Lime at Hospitality Connect covers six melamine lines in a white and green colourway, made up of tumblers, round coupe plates and an espresso cup. It suits cafes, aged care dining and function catering.

Melamine tableware is used where breakage is a running cost. It handles knocks that would chip ceramic, which suits aged care meal service, outdoor and poolside tables, buffets and function catering, and it is lighter to carry on a loaded tray.

Melamine is not a microwave material and should not be heated in one, because the surface can craze and discolour. Food is heated separately and then plated onto melamine, which is why it works as a serving rather than a cooking material.

Coloured melamine is used in aged care dining to give contrast between the plate and the food, which helps residents with low vision judge a portion. A consistent colourway across tumblers, plates and cups also makes tray setting quicker for staff.

A coupe plate is a round plate with no raised rim, so the food sits across the full surface. In a melamine range the coupe shape also stacks tightly, which matters when plates are stored in bulk for function and buffet service.
