Avanti Tea Infusers

A tea infuser is a perforated basket, ball or strainer that holds loose leaf tea while it steeps. The leaf stays contained so it can be lifted out when the brew is ready, letting a venue serve loose leaf tea without leaf in the cup.

An infuser teapot has the strainer built into the pot, which means fewer parts for staff to handle during service. A separate infuser ball or basket works with cups and pots you already own, so it costs less to introduce loose leaf tea.

A glass teapot lets staff and customers see the colour of the brew, which makes strength easy to judge and forms part of the presentation when tea is served by the pot. Glass also does not carry flavour between different teas.

Loose leaf tea needs room to expand, so an infuser should be filled loosely rather than packed. A cramped infuser restricts water flow through the leaf and produces a weaker brew than the same quantity given space.

Rinse an infuser as soon as the leaf is discarded, before tannin dries onto it. Check the individual product page for whether a given Avanti infuser or teapot is suitable for a commercial dishwasher rather than hand washing.
