Bottle Openers & Corkscrews

A waiters friend is a folding corkscrew that combines a worm, a small foil cutter blade and a bottle opener notch in one body. It is the standard tool carried by floor and bar staff, because it opens both corked and crown sealed bottles.

A bar blade is a flat, one piece stainless steel opener for crown seal bottles. It has no moving parts and no corkscrew, so it is fast to use and hard to break, which is why bars keep them at the service point.

A twin prong cork extractor slides two thin blades down between the cork and the bottle neck, then twists the cork out whole. It is used on old, dry or crumbling corks that a standard worm would push through or break apart.
