Electric Pasta Cookers

A commercial pasta cooker is a heated water tank built to boil pasta in baskets, so portions can be cooked and lifted out to order. Restaurants and pubs use one instead of a stock pot so the pasta section runs independently of the range.

They are the same appliance. Pasta cooker and pasta boiler are used interchangeably by manufacturers and suppliers for a heated tank designed to cook pasta in baskets. Some listings also refer to it as a pasta kettle.

A single tank is the simpler arrangement, with all pasta sharing one body of water. A double tank lets you hold separate water for gluten free or strongly flavoured product, and keeps a second tank available if one is being changed.

Electric pasta cookers suit sites with no gas connection, or where gas is not available in the position the cooker needs to sit. Gas models are chosen where a gas supply already runs to the line. Confirm the available supply before ordering.

Size on the number of pasta covers you plate in your busiest hour, not on daily totals. A pasta cooker loses temperature each time cold pasta and baskets go in, so a tank sized to average demand will fall behind during a peak.
