Collection: Utensil Washers

A utensil washer is a commercial warewashing machine built to clean large kitchen items that will not fit a standard dishwasher, such as mixing bowls, gastronorm pans, sheet trays and cooking utensils. It uses higher wash pressure to shift baked-on soil.

Both clean heavy kitchen items rather than crockery. A pot washer is built around the size and soil of stock pots and large pans, with a tall chamber, while a utensil washer covers a broader mix of bowls, trays, pans and utensils.

A standard commercial dishwasher is designed around plate and glass racks, so tall pots and large trays usually will not fit and its wash pressure is set for lighter soil. Baked-on cookware is better handled by a dedicated utensil or pot washer.

Size a utensil washer on the largest item it has to take rather than the number of items. Measure the tallest stock pot, the widest mixing bowl and the longest sheet tray in your kitchen, then check those against the machine chamber dimensions.

A passthrough utensil washer has a hood or door that lifts, with loading on one side and unloading on the other. It suits a wash-up area laid out in a line, so dirty items enter at one end and clean items leave at the other.
