Collection: True Refrigeration

True has been building commercial refrigeration since 1945, when the Trulaske family started out in St. Louis, and it still manufactures most of its own components rather than assembling bought-in parts. That vertical integration is the reason True cabinets have the reputation they do for long service life — and the reason they sit at a premium to entry-level imports. If you are specifying equipment you expect to still be running in ten years, True is the comparison point.

The range reaching Australia is broad: underbench and worktop counters, upright cabinets, sandwich and salad prep tables, back bar fridges, glass door merchandisers and refrigerated chef bases. Most of it now runs on R290 hydrocarbon refrigerant, which does two useful things for an Australian operator — it draws less power for the same cabinet volume, and it sidesteps the synthetic greenhouse gas levies that continue to push HFC service costs up.

Choosing the right True cabinet

Start with breathing direction and clearance

This is the decision you cannot walk back once the bench is built. True's counter range includes both front-breathing and side-mounted refrigeration models — the side-mounted TUC-44, TUC-67 and TUC-93 give you usable depth right to the back wall, which is exactly what you want when the cabinet is stocked from the front and never moved. But side-mounted systems need side clearance to breathe. Front-breathing models can be built flush into a run of joinery. Confirm which you have before the cabinetmaker cuts anything.
