Collection: Serve Mangowood

Serve Mangowood is Chef Inox's professional mangowood serveware range — covering rectangular and round serving boards in natural, dark, white, and grey timber finishes for shared-plate, charcuterie, and platter service. Mangowood is durable, food-safe, and visually distinctive, suiting modern restaurants, cafés, hotels, function venues, and catering companies.

The range covers boards from 260 x 360mm through 430 x 250mm with and without integrated handles, plus matched round and rectangular profiles across all four finish colours. Boards are 15mm thick for stability under plated weight, with sealed finishes for food contact and easy hand-wash maintenance.

Used across restaurant charcuterie programs, café shared-plate menus, hotel function and event catering, and chef's-table presentation. Pair with our serve acacia, marble serveware, and ceramic platter ranges for layered visual presentation. Trade pricing on matched-set ordering for venue fit-outs.

Choosing the Right Serve Mangowood for Your Business

Mangowood serving boards

Mangowood is a sustainable hardwood — fast-growing, low-cost compared with traditional hardwoods, and beautifully variable in colour. The Chef Inox mangowood range we stock covers serving boards in natural, dark-stained, white-washed, and grey finishes, suiting a range of venue aesthetics from rustic country to modern Scandi-style.

Formats in the range

  • Rectangular boards with handles: Paddle-style boards for shared starters, pizza service, charcuterie, and bread service.
  • Round boards: Cheese boards, dessert plates, sharing platter centrepieces.
  • Plain rectangular boards: Standard serving sizes for steakhouse, brunch, and antipasti service.
  • Sized 260–430mm: From individual-portion sizes through to shared-platter sizes.

Finish options and where each fits

  • Natural mangowood: Pale honey colour with grain visible — rustic country, brunch, and casual venues.
  • Dark-stained: Espresso to walnut tones — premium steakhouse, modern bistro, and high-end charcuterie.
  • White-washed: Soft Scandi aesthetic — café brunch and modern dessert presentation.
  • Grey-finished: Modern industrial aesthetic — gastropub and casual fine dining.

Mangowood vs acacia

Mangowood and acacia are similar in commercial serving applications. Mangowood is slightly softer (gentler on knives but scars more easily), more sustainable (faster-growing), and lower cost. Acacia is denser and more naturally water-resistant — better for moisture-heavy service. For most venues, the choice is aesthetic — pick the wood and finish that matches your fit-out.

Care

  • Hand-wash only: Same as acacia — no dishwasher.
  • Oil monthly: Food-grade mineral oil keeps the surface sealed.
  • Sand carefully: Mangowood is softer — light sanding restores surface but don't oversand the stain finish.
  • Replace if cracked: Cracks harbour bacteria — discard cracked boards.

Mangowood board care

  • Hand-wash only: No dishwasher — heat and chemistry split wood.
  • Oil monthly: Food-grade mineral oil keeps surfaces sealed.
  • Sand carefully: Mangowood is softer than acacia — light sanding only, don't oversand stained finishes.
  • Replace if cracked: Cracks harbour bacteria — discard.
  • Air-dry vertically: Stand on edge between uses.
  • Don't use for raw protein: Service boards only — raw protein goes on colour-coded PE.
