Hi-balls and tumblers are the foundation of front-of-house glassware — water service, mixed drinks, soft drinks, and casual wine service. The right glass balances visual presence, dishwasher tolerance and stacking. Hospitality Connect stocks Bormioli Rocco, RCR, Duralex, Stolzle and Ocean — covering tempered, fully toughened and standard glass tumblers from 200ml through to 465ml.
Choosing the right tumbler
- Bodega tumblers (Bormioli Rocco): Mini 225ml and Medium 355ml — the everyday water and soft drink glass for cafés and bistros.
- Picardie (Duralex): 200/220ml — French bistro classic, tempered glass, stacks for storage.
- Manhattan and Prisme (Duralex): Tempered tumblers for casual dining.
- Long drinks/highballs (Bormioli Rocco Sestriere, Rock Bar): 370–378ml — for cocktails, mixers and pulled drinks.
- DOF (Double Old Fashioned) tumblers: 305–390ml — whisky, bourbon and rocks service.
- Liqueur tumblers: 78ml RCR Timeless — for after-dinner spirits and digestifs.
Material and durability
- Fully toughened (Bormioli Rocco): Engineered to fail safely (small cubes, not shards) and survive higher dishwasher temperatures. Best for high-volume service.
- Tempered (Duralex): Resistant to thermal shock; stack-safe; the bistro standard.
- Standard glass with rim cut (RCR): Italian crystal-effect glass for elevated service.
- Coloured tumblers (Bormioli Lively Blue): Branded venue glassware — pair with neutral plates for visual contrast.
Specifying for your bar and dining room
Industry rule for glassware: 3 to 4 of each glass type per cover, accounting for breakage, dishwasher cycles and service speed. A 100-seat venue should hold 300+ Bodega tumblers as the everyday water glass, plus dedicated DOF for spirits. Don't undersize on long drinks — Friday and Saturday cocktail service eats highball glasses faster than any other piece.

Australian commercial hospitality covers a broad spectrum — quick-service chains, casual dining, fine dining restaurants, function and event centres, pubs and clubs, cafés, bakeries, hotels, aged-care kitchens, hospital food service, school canteens, government catering and the corporate function market. The right specification varies by venue type. We've supplied equipment to all of these, and that experience helps us flag when a piece of equipment is right-sized or when a different model would suit your throughput better.
All standard SKUs in this collection ship from our Melbourne warehouse, with freight to most metropolitan areas in 1–3 business days. Heavy and oversized items are dispatched on tail-lift trucks for ground-level delivery. We coordinate dispatch around your install date so equipment arrives when the kitchen is ready for it, not weeks ahead when it sits in the way.
