Glasslock food storage containers are used in commercial kitchens to hold prepped ingredients, portioned product and leftovers in the fridge or coolroom. The airtight lid keeps the contents sealed, which suits mise en place held between services.

Rectangular containers sit square against each other and against the shelf edge, so they waste less space than round ones. In a full coolroom that difference adds up quickly, and stacked rectangles are more stable than round tubs when trolleys move.

An airtight seal limits air movement over the surface of stored food, which slows drying and helps stop strong odours transferring between containers. In a mixed coolroom that keeps herbs, dairy and cut fruit tasting the way they were prepped.

Match the container to the batch being stored so little empty air is left inside. An oversized container leaves more air in contact with the food, while an undersized one gets overfilled and stops the lid sealing properly.

Standardising on one container range means lids and bases stay interchangeable, so staff spend less time matching parts. It also keeps stacking consistent on coolroom shelves and makes replacing a damaged lid straightforward rather than a search.
