Commercial Charcoal Cooking Equipment

A commercial charcoal grill is a heavy duty grill that cooks over burning charcoal or solid fuel rather than gas or electricity. Restaurants, pubs and clubs use one to give meat, seafood and vegetables a smoky, charred flavour that gas cannot reproduce.

A charcoal grill burns solid fuel directly under the food, producing smoke and a distinct char flavour. A gas char grill heats radiants or lava rock with burners, lights faster, holds temperature more precisely and produces no ash to clear away.

A robata grill is a long, narrow charcoal grill built for skewered cooking over an open bed of coals. Cooks work along its length at different heat zones, which suits high volume grilling of small cuts, seafood and vegetables.

Solid fuel appliances have different extraction and canopy requirements to gas equipment, because they produce ash, sparks and heavier smoke. Check the canopy specification and the requirements that apply at your site with your kitchen fitter before ordering a charcoal grill.

Bench mounted charcoal grills sit on an existing stand or bench and suit compact kitchen lines where floor space is already committed. Freestanding units bring their own base and larger grill bars, which suits venues grilling a high volume of covers at once.
