Collection: Icematic

A modular ice machine is a head unit that must sit on a separate storage bin or dispenser, so the machine and the bin are chosen independently. A self-contained machine has the storage bin built into the same cabinet.

A modular ice machine is the ice-making head only, and it is mounted on a storage bin or dispenser that is specified separately. That lets a venue match a large bin to a smaller machine, or the reverse, to suit its demand pattern.

Dice ice is a firm cube used for drinks service, where it melts slowly and holds its shape in the glass. Flake ice is soft and mouldable, and is used to pack seafood displays, chill product and hold food on ice.

Size an ice machine on peak daily demand rather than an average, then confirm the storage bin can carry the venue through the busiest service without the machine falling behind. Ambient temperature and water temperature also affect real-world output.

An undercounter ice machine is built to fit beneath a bar or service counter, so ice is made at the point of pour. It suits bars, cafes and small venues that have no plant room and cannot run ice from a back area.
