The black colourway of the Andre Verdier range takes in table cutlery, cheese knives, steak knives, a bread knife and a carving knife. Cheese knives are the largest single group here, and pieces run through the Debutant, Omnicolour and Laguiole lines.
Black works differently on a table to a stainless or pale handle. It draws a defined line against white crockery and recedes against dark timber, so it is a deliberate styling choice rather than a neutral one. Beyond appearance the decisions are the same as any cutlery order: cheese knives are bought as a small group for a board rather than per cover, steak knives are bought to the number of steak covers you turn, and table cutlery is bought loose so individual pieces can be replaced.
