An upright fridge gives the most chilled storage per square metre of floor, which is why it is the standard choice for back of house bulk holding. Door count sets capacity and wall width, so measure the run of space and the door swing clearance. Check the cabinet height against any bulkhead and the doorway it must pass through on delivery. Upright fridge care and longevity

• Clean condenser coils monthly: Dust on the condenser is the single biggest cause of compressor failure. Vacuum and brush every month.
• Check door seals weekly: Dollar bill test — if it pulls out without resistance, replace the gasket.
• Don't overload shelves: Restricted airflow creates warm zones and wastes energy.
• Defrost on schedule: Auto-defrost cycles need to run uninterrupted; ice on the evaporator chokes airflow.
